I started off with freshly washed hair, I used Bentonite Clay to wash my hair. I like this clay wash as I feel it cleanses my hair without stripping it. The Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Protein has a thick creamy consistency and when initially opened the packet I thought I wouldn't have enough to cover my whole head, but it covered my hair from root to tip. I didn't initially feel a major difference with my hair when I put it on, it has a good amount of slip for de-tangling.
I put on a plastic cap on my hair and left it on my hair for over 5 hours, I know I know the packet says leave it on for 30 minutes but I had errands to run so I put on a nice hat to cover the plastic on my head and carried on with my life. When I eventually did rinse it off my hair felt extremely soft as I ran my hands through my hair my hair strands felt strong.
This treatment has silk and keratin hydrolyzed proteins which as mentioned in post about protein treatments hydrolyzed proteins are proteins that have being broken down to smaller components and they penetrate your hair strands better than the larger proteins in the more traditional home-made protein treatments of eggs and avo's.
I sealed the moisture in my hair with my favorite cream right now the Nubian Nature Carrot Hydrating Creme. I know I go on and on about this cream but it really does amazing things for my hair be it to refresh an old twist-out, moisturizing my very dry ends or just sealing in the moisture after I wash. I decided to put my hair in a protective style for a couple of weeks just to give it a rest from all they styling.
Conclusion
The Palmers Coconut Oil Formula Protein Pack worked for my hair it feels soft, smooth and moisturized. This treatment is inexpensive at R21.95 and is available at all Clicks stores it can be used at least twice a week if your hair is really badly damaged give it a try if your hair is feeling a bit sad.
