I should know better but you know you just hold on to them hoping that they will just seal up magically. Well they don’t and consequently I have had to chop of more than an inch of my hair because I held on to my split ends longer than I should have.
My ends were looking so ragged, I knew that they had to go. The last time I trimmed my ends was back in May 2014, I trimmed the ends myself I seriously do not recommend you do this. My hair was extremely uneven, I even left a few split ends behind which I would hap-hazardly trim off as I styled my hair. Yes I watched the you-tube video showing you how to cut your own hair and IT DOESN’T WORK unless you double jointed. Furthermore, I did not have the right tools, which meant I was actually doing more harm than good. This time I decided to go to a salon to have my ends trimmed by someone that actually knows how to cut hair.
I went to my old hair dresser who knows how to cut my word that man is talented with a pair of scissors, unfortunately that’s all he is good at. The first thing he said to me is “oh your hair looks terrible". Now folks this is where you actually need to ignore these Stylist and direct them to what you want them to do, unfortunately most Ethnic hairstylist in South Africa have not received any formal training. My Fro! is now a little shorter than normal but my hair feels like silk, soft, smooth and it appears thicker.
Do you hold on to your split ends? How often to you trim your hair? How do you deal with an unscrupulous hair dresser just trying to make money out of you?
