Product Review - Taji Organic Shea Butter Creme

Ahhh Shea Butter the holy grail of most naturals, it's hard to believe that a few years ago Raw Shea Butter wasn't as readily available as it is now. Lately its seems, that everyone and their grandmother is making a Shea Butter mix. Regular readers of this blog will know that I am rather averse to making anything myself, so if someone else is making a perfectly good Shea Butter Mix, I much rather prefer to buy theirs. When TAJI  asked me to try their Shea Butter Creme I was more than happy to oblige as I haven't tried a new Shea Butter Mix in a while.

WHO IS TAJI - They are a brand that has been around since 2013, it was started by Ofentse Maluleke who is also the brand's CEO, after graduating from UCT and working for a few years in corporate  Ofentse or "Princess Ofee" as she is likes to be known, decided to start making her own natural hair and skincare products.  She, started off by selling her creations to friends and her community and in 2015 Ofentse decided to take the leap and run TAJI full time.  Well done to her!  

What we liked 

TAJI makes an organic whipped Shea Butter Creme for the hair and body and a lip balm. We were lucky enough to try the Organic Shea Butter Creme, it's ingredients are: Organic Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Honey, Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Argan Oil, Olive oil and various essential oil. This is a thick yet smooth mix which has a delightful fragrance. The butter applies very easily, is not oily, absorbs quickly onto damp hair and it gives the hair a beautiful sheen once dry. I used it on flat twists, single twist, twist-out, plaits and as a sealant.  It made my hair smooth and soft.  The same mix can be used on  dry skin and it proved to be an absolute hit with one of our testers, as it absorbed very quickly into his damp skin and maintained the skin's moisture levels throughout  the day, after use for over a month the skin was very soft and supple, he also loved the fact the product was not oily and that a little goes a long way. 

What we didn't like

The product is not readily available, so you cannot get it in stores. We felt that the product was slightly more expensive than the other Shea butter mixes on the market 

Our thoughts 

WE LOVED IT..... and we loved it so much we are putting it on our online store. Yes it is slightly more expensive than the other Shea butter mix but we feel the quality of the ingredients makes the purchase of this mix absolutely worth it.  I know that you will tell me that it's so easy to make a Shea Butter mix at home, but I bet you, that you cannot make one as good as Ofentse makes.

As winter approaches and you start to look for those heavy butters and creams to put on your hair and skin make sure you pick up a jar of this yummy mix to try.
