Natural Hair meetups are a great place to meet other naturals and find new products mixed in Mzansi, though you might be forgiven for thinking you are entering a Shea Butter Convention as sadly that is the most popular "product" being offered by the "Mzansi Mixtresses". I live in eternal hope that we will see Stylers, Gels and awesome Leave-in conditioners coming out of Mzansi soon.
I especially love events organised by Me Time Events as they always offer a wide array of speakers and entrepreneurs; which are not just limited to hair but include African clothing, jewelry, makeup FOOD and so much more.Almost a month ago I went to a Me Time Event and I was introduced to Asili Products, amongst the many Shea butter mixes theirs stood out for me because they had INGREDIENTS on their products, they smelled divine, the Shea butter mix was smooth and absorbed quickly into the skin and all their products are priced fairly.
One of my favorite products from Asili is their scented first press castor oil, these are ordinary castor oils that have essential oils added to them, this takes away that horrid castor oil scent I hate so much. I bought the Rose Oil and Peppermint oil. I like to use castor oil to seal the ends of my hair when I do twists, braids or as part of my hot oil treatment. I was especially pleased that this castor oil was scented as I also like to use castor oil in winter to help seal in the moisture in my skin as I tend to get dry and very flaky skin.
We loved their products so much we will be adding them to our Mzansifro Online Store so that you can enjoy them as well.
Do you go to Natural Hair Events? What do you use Castor Oil for?
