5 Things I will not be doing to my hair in 2017

Happy New Year my Lovelies (Can I still say "Happy New Year" it's not too late?)

It's a New Year, New beginnings [that meme of the girl walking up the stairs leaving everything behind including people springs to mind]
I am not big on resolutions, they only last a week and then I am back to wolfing down a Crispy Cream Donut and hitting the snooze button when its time for the gym.

However as I was clearing out my "hair stash" cupboard [It went from a little Shelf, to a Plastic container, to 2 Plastic containers now it is a whole cupboard with 3 shelves] I decided that there was a few things I was definitely not going do to my hair this year.

1.  I am NEVER going to use Henna and Indigo -  I have  used Henna and Indigo on my hair for close to two years, as a result of that, I could not use commercial dyes on my hair to achieve the hair color I wanted, plus the Henna altered the curl pattern of certain parts of my hair.

2.  Over Manipulating my hair -  my hair has gone through a lot since I started my blog, Twist-outs, Braid-outs, Coils, Wash and Go's literally every single thing you can think of. This year I am cutting back on styling instead I want to concentrate on the health of my hair.

3.   Stop using rubbish on my hair - I am done! I don't care if the products come from California, Port Shepstone, Calcutta or the Moon if they are rubbish they are not going on my hair.  My hair has gone through a lot and it's taking longer and longer for it recover from testing junk.

4. NEVER skip a Protein Treatment - I will never again under estimate what a good protein treatment can do for my hair health and length retention.  I proved it to myself when I bleached my hair, my hair survived simply because I used one of the best protein treatments available on a regular basis. My priority has always been to keep my hair moisturized that I would sometimes skip the protein.  I realized that this was an integral part in growing and strengthening my hair.

And finally number 5. STOP comparing my hair to others - Yes yes I know! I always tell you not to look at other people's hair and to focus on your own hair but hey I am human and I do look at other people's hair. I wish for a looser curl pattern, less density, less hair to deal with, but all things I don't want someone else is dying for (go figure)

What are your hair goals?  Also I am interested to know how big is your hair stash? Please share in the comments below.  If you found this post interesting please share with your friends.
