I have been slightly obsessing about my hairline lately….. you
all know how I love those pulled back slick buns with my edges laying flat on
my head well turns out there is a price to pay for those cute styles and it’s
the hair line………..so lately I have pretty much left my hair alone and not done
much combing or slick up-do’s……my obsession has had me
researching for the last few months now how I can SAVE and IMPROVE my dwindling hairline...............
The one method that has had me intrigued was the Greenhouse Effect
Method ( “GHE”)…for a long time I have confused this method with the baggy
method and I kept thinking it was the same thing just different names……I am not
too keen on the baggy method as it involves wet hair pretty much all the time…...but upon careful “googling”
I discovered that the 2 methods are very different the “GHE” method does not
involve water or conditioners at all, it
is just a natural oils or butters and shower cap and that’s it…the two
methods do different things the baggy method increases moisture in your hair
and the "GHE" method promotes growth……of course if it involves natural hair there
is a lot of the testimonials and
conflicting information on the WWW about the “GHE” method…… according to the WWW the "GHE" method was
made famous by Mika and Juvaun who supposedly
invented the method for www.lishaunatural.com
as she had recently gone natural and was struggling with the endless regimens
on the WWW please check out her blog here http://www.lishaunaturals.com/haircare/real-queens-green-house-effect-regimen/
For me this method is simplicity itself that is why I have chosen it........there is no complicated steps and when you think about the
process your hair will go through it makes a lot of sense……. what you do is, you use
a natural oil or butter on your hair DO NOT put any on your scalp and then put
on a shower cap and go to sleep…..simple right!
What this does is creates a
nice warm moist environment on your head for your hair to grow, this in turn
triggers your body to produce more Sebum on your scalp which allows your hair
to grow as your scalp will be stimulated, secondly with the heat from your body and your head covered in a plastic your head will sweat this in-turn creates moisture so that your hair retains the moisture it needs, and we all
know we need moisture in order to retain length, this then makes it logical that the "GHE"method will work the BlackGirlLongHair blog has done a more scientific approach to analysing this method check out their blog here http://blackgirllonghair.com/2014/03/does-the-greenhouse-effect-really-increase-hair-growth/

Supplements
My quest to grow back my hairline to what is was a year ago
has also led me down the path of researching the very confusing world of supplements…… as with anything that is
hair growth related there is so many supplements out there with Dischem and Clicks having their
own hair and nails vitamins and there is the Prosan treatment system
as well which comes with a supplement of its own......then of course the one
that is all abuzz on the internet right now the HAIRFINITY there is so many You-tube testimonials about this one but it's an import and it does cost a bit of money to bring it here……
Before delving into the thought of taking supplements I identified what I needed and this is what I came up with; I wanted a supplement that will grow longer, stronger and healthier hair, I wanted a supplement that was naturally occurring and that would benefit my overall health rather than just my hair.....also I wanted something
easily available in Mzansi and of course
something that wouldn't cost me my left kidney.......

ENTER MSM or specifically Methylsulfonylmethane (www.msm-info.com)
MSM or the sulfur in it helps with a lot more than just grow hair it helps with inflammation of the
joints, muscles spams, alleviates arthritis
pain, increases blood flow…..biologically Sulfur helps to maintain structural
proteins in our bodies and is an essential component for building cartilage it also assists
other chemicals in the body to work (www.msmguide.com),
so overall this is a supplement that would benefit my whole body.... in its natural state sulfur can be found in foods like onions, garlic, dairy
products, egg yolks, nuts and seeds and most cruciferous vegetables, but because of the cooking process most of it is destroyed.....
I chose THRESHHold
RealMSM which I found at an independent pharmacy for R120 and there is 60
tablets in the bottle…….most of my research recommended that you start with a
low dose and increase it as you go along to get the full benefit of the Sulfur
so I have started with 2000mg per day I will increase it by 1000mg every week…….I
am going to take it for the next 2 months and record my progress.
So I am sure I should get maximum benefit from using the “GHE”
method and taking MSM I should experience amazing hair growth and my hair line
should improve…….wish me luck.
I will be posting pictures and measurements every 2 weeks so
please come back and check them out……
