I was so excited on Saturday after coming from Candi and Co Salon in Randburg where I purchased my Mizani True Textures products. I couldn't wait to get home and try them. I started off by using the Mizani Curl Balance Shampoo which is sulfate free I am not a shampoo fan but I figured since this particular shampoo is specifically made for my hair type as per the Mizani Hair Typing system my locs would feel amazing, boy was a I WRONG upon applying the shampoo on to my scalp to clean it I was hit by the very OVERWHELMING fragrance of this product it smells a bit ""oconutish". I sectioned my hair and applied the product on to my scalp and gently massaged once that was done I worked the rest of the product on to my hair very briefly then rinsed, as I was rinsing my hair immediately felt stripped and coarse.

I then followed with the Mizani True Textures Curl Replenish Intense Moisturizing Mask, I applied this product as per the directions on the bottle I separated my hair and applied to each section from root to tip and then left it on my hair for the stipulated 10 minutes. Thank goodness it wasn't a minute longer as I found the fragrance of the product to be over-powering and when I rinsed it out of my hair my hair felt like KRAP it felt coarse my cuticles were definitely not smooth I was really irritated with this product it cost me a kidney literally and after that mouthful of label it did nothing for my 4C or VII type hair NOTHING at all. I was annoyed these hair products were not cheap after spending that amount of money the least it could do was "intensely moisturize my hair" as it said on the bottle

At this stage I didn't want to try the other product but because I spent a lot of money on it, surely one of them must work so I started to style my hair with the very strongly fragranced Mizani Moisture Stretch according to the information on the bottle this product is supposed to "loosen my tightly coiled curls and stretch" them well that sounded wonderful I could now achieve a nice wash and go on my VII type hair. I don't know how to write this in PG13 type of language this product DOES NOT DO WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL DO, I get more curl definition from homemade Flax Seed gel and if I want to use a store bought product Dischem Beauty Treats Aloe Vera Gel for R60 works much better than this load XXXX in a jar.
I know I am to blame for spending over R600 on hair products that are absolute KRAP. I don't know why I believed the hype about Mizani products I got over taken by the pretty packaging the professional looking website and the pictures of the models who were perfectly made up with gorgeous flowing locs, after trying to style my hair for over 45 minutes with the Moisture Stretch I gave up and decided to put my hair in twists. I left them over night to air dry and the next morning I took down the twist and I must say the twists-out was very nice, however, I am not prepared to spend that amount of money on a product to do a twist-out when I can make Flax Seed Gel for less than R20.
Conclusion
These products are not for my natural hair they are stripping and do not offer any moisture as the packaging says I have since had to do a clay treatment to get rid of every trace of Mizani products out of my hair and do a deep treatment with Tresemme Naturals and Honey to get my hair back to what it was before The styler Moisture Stretch is definitely not for MY 4C or VII type hair as they call it in my opinion these products will probably work well for my natural sisters with 3 type hair. I absolutely blame myself for buying these products as I thought they would actually do what they said. I think that there are locally manufactured products that are of a much higher standard. I truly believed that the products would work despite reading all the reviews from other 4 Type naturals about how awful this product was please check out these you-tube videos and hear what they think of Mizani True Textures.
