Aunt Jackie's Latest Additions

 I have come to accept that when an international brand exports their products to Mzansi, they do not send the whole range which is such a pity, but I suppose they always save the best for last.

The Aunt Jackie's Flaxseed Gel and the Quench Leave-in conditioner "found" me last year as we were compiling our Noir Beauty Box, at first I was upset that such a big company would make and bottle "flax-seed gel".  Personally I cannot stand the home-made version no matter how I make it, I can never ever get the hold that I like. Flax Seeds are food and I do not do food in my hair at all. I was however, pleasantly surprised to find that this gel resembles nothing like homemade Flax Seed Gel instead is a clear pleasantly scented gel.

First thing I wanted to know was, could this gel give me a perfect  "wash and go"?  Well YES/NO when wet my 4B/4C curls were definitely defined however as my hair dried  the curls kind of disappeared into a BIG  frizzy Afro with some texture which I kind of liked. On 4A hair however,  this gel is absolutely the BOMB it not only defines it elongates those curls and you get tiny gorgeous little coils with minimal defining effort, furthermore it does not dry "crunchy" so the hair is soft bouncy and the curls are extremely defined. I also used the gel on my hair for a twist out and I got an extremely defined twist-out, if you are struggle with custards, and puddings this gel will actually work amazing on 4C type hair to give you that defined twist-out.

What I liked
I like the fact that the gel does not dry crunchy and I love the defined twist-out it gave me as most of you know "the Twist-out" is my favorite styling option, I love the subtle fragrance of the gel and the fact that it wasn't like home-made Flax-Seed Gel. 

What I didn't like
I wished that it could have given me the wash and go like my sisters hair (curl envy).  I also felt that it build-ups quite easily so you have to be careful with how much you use if you do not wash your hair regularly do not use a "shovel size" on this product definitely keep it to pea size. 

QUENCH Leaving conditioner 
This conditioner does exactly what it says, it QUENCHES,  this product is ABSOLUTELY amazing  if you are suffering from chronic dry and unmanageable hair this product will not only soften your hair but it will QUENCH that dry thirsty hair in a split second. My tresses loved this product as my hair has been suffering from dryness lately another PLUS is that it is not oily/greasy. My hair felt like it had been "enveloped in goodness" packed with ingredients like Shea Butter and Olive oil you would expect it to be heavy and weigh down the hair but it doesn't. My hair was springy and bouncy and light. It is also an excellent de-tangler especially for very thick 4C hair. 

What I liked
Out of all the Aunt Jackie's products this is my absolute favorite, and in my quest for the perfect leave-in conditioner this is definitely on my favorites list. It has excellent slip and you can use it to revive "old hair".  This product is well worth having and it will blow your mind. 

What I didn't like 
I am not sure who markets these products or how the products get on to retailers shelves but I don't like the fact that this product is not readily available at Clicks like the other Aunt Jackie's products.
