How do you know what is causing the itch?
If you find yourself with an itchy scalp and your products or diet have not changed and you don't have any existing skin conditions such as Seborrhic Dermatitis chances are Malassezia is the culprit. Don't despair I have you covered there are number of products you can use to stop that itch in no time.
My Recommendations are:
Products that contain anti-fungal and antibacterial properties are key in reducing and eliminating the amount of yeast on your scalp. Head and Shoulders (R84 Dischem) is probably one of the best products for the job as it contains an antibacterial and anti-fungal agent Zinc Pyrithion.
If the natural approach is what you are looking for then Giovanni's Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo and Conditioner (R259 for both on the Biovea Website) will soothe and calm your scalp. Tea Tree oil has been shown to have anti-microbal properties and it has proved effective in treating certain dermatological conditions caused by bacteria. (Wikepedia)
Remember if your symptoms persist or seem to be getting worse then you must contact your doctor as you might be developing a skin concern such as Psoriasis.
