I am sure many of you will remember my first Mizani True Textures Review. Click here to read my first Review on Mizani True Textures. Mizani re-launched and repackaged their True Textures range and yours truly got invited to the launch I got a few full size products to take home with me to try.
I must tell you off hand that I had used the shampoo and conditioner at school before the launch on various hair types and I completely fell in love with both these products. The shampoo has definitely improved in leaps and bounds, it now actually cleanses my hair without stripping. The conditioner infused with delicate fragrance moisturizes without weighing down the hair, it has great slip for detangling and leaves your hair smooth and soft.
Sadly that is the only good thing I have to say about the new True Textures range. The rest of the products I got are mediocre at best.
Mizani Twist and Coil Jelly
The first time I used this product was to do a twist-out on my hair, the night before an event, yes yes I know I had high hopes. It actually applied smoothly on to my hair so I was very encouraged and excited. The next morning however, my hair had white residual all over, I couldn't even brush it away I had to put my hair into a flat twist and wear a wig to the event. I tried the product several times after this, unfortunately I kept getting the same results, very dry crunchy twist-out with excessive residual. Sadly I cannot even use this to shave my legs so I binned it.
Mizani Curl Enhancing Lotion
I used this product as a moisturizer and at first it showed immense promise when I unraveled my twists in the morning they were super defined elongated and soft and bouncy, but as the day wore on my hair become dry and very very crunch to a point where it actually felt brittle. I tried the product again and again but I kept getting the same results. I eventually binned this one as well.
These are unfortunately the only products I got to try from the new True Texture range as they also ran out of goodies bags for their guests on the day of the launch. In my opinion there has been a huge improvement with the shampoo and conditioner the other two products are just krap I am sorry there is just no other way to put it. I am disappointed with the products and I have decided to stop trying with Mizani stylers they are just not made for my hair.
